Williamsburg

Williamsburg, a city in the U.S. state of Virginia, was capital of the Virginia Colony from 1699 to 1780 and played a significant role in the American Revolution. It forms the “Historic Triangle” together with Jamestown and Yorktown. Its heart is Colonial Williamsburg, a historic district and living-history museum where actors in period costume depict daily Colonial life in the streets, stores and workshops.

Today, Williamsburg is known internationally as the premier center for the preservation and interpretation of American colonial history: The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation; and as the home of one of the nation’s premier public universities: The College of William & Mary.

Colonial Williamsburg is the world’s largest living history museum and can be enjoyed by strolling through the streets or purchasing a day, 3 day or yearly pass to enter buildings, attend events and enjoy all that Colonial Williamsburg has to offer.

Williamsburg is also chalked-full of a variety of activities. From thrilling rides at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, to a day in the water at Water Country USA, to a ghost tour and guided tour, to visiting nearby Jamestown Settlement there is something for everyone!
