Savannah

Savannah, a coastal Georgia city, is separated from South Carolina by the Savannah River. It’s known for manicured parks, horse-drawn carriages and antebellum architecture. Its historic district is filled with cobblestoned squares and parks such as Forsyth Park shaded by oak trees covered with Spanish moss. At the center of this picturesque district is the landmark, Gothic-Revival Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.

Savannah, Georgia, is a charming Southern escape where art, period architecture, trendy boutiques and haunted stories are all set under a veil of Spanish moss. Savannah is where exemplary cuisine comes straight from the coast and refreshing cocktails are served at every meal.

I have visited Savannah many times although it has been quite a few years since my last visit. I have always enjoyed the park circles, moss filled trees, cobble stone streets, small shops and lovely homes/buildings.

There has always been a southern charm to Savannah. The supernatural elements of the city has also always interested me. While New Orleans is known more for Voodoo, Savannah for me has always been about Witchcraft and fortune telling.

This city will always hold a special place in my heart. I think of the movie In the Garden of Good and Evil and the Lady Bird statue that represents the scales of justice when I think of this fair city.
